John, Max, and I visited San Francisco today, thanks to an invitation to picnic with our dear friends, Jeff, Sarah, and Sean Slater.
We visited Fisherman's Wharf where we: ate clam chowder on a street corner,

bought too much delicious Boudin sour dough bread,

caught a lobster,

saw cable cars,

and helped a lady take a picture of "Flat Stanley" for her nephew.
Next was Pier 49. We: saw sea lions,

appreciated some bright, beautiful flowers,

watched ferries dock,

saw Alcatraz from across the bay,

and dreamed of eating sea food at one of the full service restaurants.
We then drove a few blocks to Ghirardelli square.

FREE CHOCOLATE samples, I got a pink San Francisco hoodie (and had buyers remorse before we even made it back to the car), Max got a maraca, and we all enjoyed some ice cream sundaes.
Our last stop was the real reason for our visit. Alamo Square park and the Painted Ladies.

We relaxed and people watched, ate lunch,

Max had his first swing ride (loved it!) and went down the slide (eh).

We took the long way home to drive across the Golden Gate Bridge. Now I can say I've done it.

Max was a good boy. He slept on most of the car rides, and seemed to enjoy just taking everything in!
P.S. Here are a few more Max pictures I had to include.

Notes for the next trip:
Bring lots of change if you plan to park at meters. I think we fed ours 4 or more times. In the touristy area it costs $3/hr and you can only pay for an hour at a time! There are parking structures that charge $20 a day though, which might be worth it if you planned to spend the whole day at the piers.
Gloves/hat for the baby. It got a little chilly with the wind in the shade.
Take some pictures that aren't starring ME!
